Why drive all the way up to Baltimore for a crab feast when you can attend one right here at the pool with all of your friends and neighbors? Holmes Run Pool hosted its first crab feast around 2006 or so, the exact year is unknown it was so long ago. This community gathering was so enjoyed that it became an annual event and is now a longstanding tradition that members eagerly await every summer. In fact, it is such a well attended event that members are reputed to have put away up to 15 bushels of crabs! Come join us for this midsummer's feast and, once you’ve had your fill, dance the night away or swim by the light of the moon.

The annual meeting of the Holmes Run Acres Recreation Association (HRARA) shareholders will be held at the pool in the evening on Saturday, August 19, 2023. All members are invited and encourage to attend (please note that guests are not invited to this event). Even if you've never attended before, please come! You will have a chance to hear from the Board about the season and more. In what may be as fun as grilling steaks at the pool, you will have the opportunity to grill our Board of Directors about what they have been up to and learn about future plans. A complimentary light dinner will be served following the meeting for all who attend.

The fun is not over yet! The pool will be open for an encore weekend Saturday, September 7 and Sunday, September 8. Come on out and join us for an end-of-summer pot luck dinner and a final swim!

Swimming may be over for this year, but there is still another chance to get together with your Holmes Run Pool friends at this festive gathering celebrating the Autumn season. Chefs Jim Wright, Mark Sites, and their trusty pit crew will lovingly smoke and slow roast a whole pig on site overnight. Savor the succulent barbecue with vegetarian sides including chili, mac and cheese, baked beans, and coleslaw all homemade by Seena Polivy and Laura Champe Mitchell. Children are invited to decorate a mini-pumpkin that they can take home with them and All are encouraged to participate in or spectate at a three-legged race! So come, enjoy some excellent barbecue, catch the three-legged race, indulge in dessert, or just take in the vibe of the evening, all in the good company of friends and neighbors at this favorite annual event.
Now that the pool is officially closed for the season, our facility is being winterized. There are a few quick items that can be handled by member volunteers including moving the picnic tables and removing the deck canopies. We are looking for volunteers to help with these items—with enough help,
